The one thing I have always wanted to do was see the Marshall
factory in Great Britain seeing as I have many custom made Marshall Amps. So, In September 2001 I was on a holiday promo trip
for Snake Eyes in the UK. So I booked us a tour for the Marshall factory. The factory was in Bletchley Milton Keynes.
First thing I noticed when we got there was the huge Marshall sign,Wow! Then I saw Jim Marshall's car with the license plate
JCM800, cool. We were to meet our tour guide Phil and do our thing. In the lobby on the second floor is a huge collection of Vintage and Custom Marshall Amps Jim's private collection,
wicked stuff. Phil took us through the various departments of the factory, it was so wild watching the workers buliding the
best Amps in the world. Phil explained to us in every detail of how each component of the amps were made and tested. It was
so interesting it was like going to College for me. I showed Phil a pic of my Marshalls and he was blown away. There were
so many hightech machines and ways that they made the Marshall it was like so cool. Phil even allowed pics he was one of the
nicest chaps I ever met. We even got to see them testing the amps in the sound booth fun job crank it. There was this cool
sound testing booth that cost a million pounds to build, it had all these wild cones in it like something from NASA.
Everyone was so nice there the treated us like VIP guests how lucky I was. We even got goody bags with stickers and promo
wow it was all free including the tour. In all it was a dream come true so interesting and to see how the Marshall is made
unreal, one of the best days of my life. So if your in Great Britain go to the Marshall factory and see the "Magic" behind
the Greatest Amp in the World "MARSHALL". | | |
